At Fonseca F Consulting LLC, our goal is to help you use water in a way that is as beneficial as possible, which we call water stewardship. The Water Council defines water stewardship as the use of water that is socially and culturally equitable, environmentally sustainable, and economically beneficial. This can be achieved through a stakeholder-inclusive process that includes both site and catchment-based actions. 

We work directly with you to review exactly how water is used within your day-to-day operation. To achieve successful water stewardship, you must understand your water use, watershed context, and shared risk in terms of water governance, water balance, water quality, and important water-related areas.

The AWS International Water Stewardship Standard, or the AWS Standard, is a global

framework for companies to understand the impact and importance of how you choose to use water in your daily business activities. We’ll work with you to create and implement a sustainable plan to achieve water stewardship in a way that works for you. 

Similarly, the Water Council’s WAVE program gives companies a way to improve their water stewardship and, more importantly, have it independently verified. It is a six-step methodology for improving, reporting and recognizing good corporate water stewardship. The WAVE program is a credible approach, based on global best practices, that sends a strong message to investors, customers, and employees by translating water action into verified external reporting. At Fonseca Consulting, we will help you in identifying those components of your water stewardship program to target for improvement.

Implementing water stewardship practices supports the understanding of water dependencies and impact, mitigating operational and supply chain water risks, ensuring responsible water procedures are in place, building relationships with local water-related stakeholders, and addressing challenges shared with others in the watershed.
